WEAKNESSES: He tends to work at a really slow pace, so if you ask him for something, you might have to keep asking him for it to get it done on time. He also tends to listen to children more then he does adults since he spends so much time with them. Children are another one of his weaknesses. He can't stand to see children upset or getting punished in a physical way. He's been known to stop strangers on the street if he sees them spanking children. As such, he isn't too popular among parents who have naughty children. He's pretty much the same with animals, too.
STRENGTHS: Even though he's slow at getting things done, he's only slow so he can make sure everything is absolutely perfect. He has the patience of a saint which is good since when you work with kids, that's a perfect skill to have. He's willing to do anything to make his students smile. Whether it be buying them ice cream or dressing up in a silly costume, he won't hesitate to go that extra mile.

PERSONALITY: If you watched Saburo interact with others, you would notice that he is an incredibly laid back person. He barely raises his voice and always speaks in a slow calming tone. He gets along with most people he talks to because of this. It takes a lot to make him angry or upset. The only things that make him angry on spot are people abusing children or animals. Not angry like, yell at people angry, but he'll take a more serious tone with them and become more stern.
If you want to see Saburo truly happy, just follow him to work everyday. His demeanor changes from that of a laid back person to that of a big kid. He becomes much more lively and loves to play, read and go on field trips with his students. It's very common for him to take them out and buy them snacks or small toys to play with. He says that even though it's important for children to get a good education, they also must have fun in order for their minds to grow. His mother raised him that way and he believes every child should be raised that way.
Speaking of moms, his is a mama's boy since he is the youngest of three children and always takes time out of his schedule to visit her and his grandmother. He's an all around gentleman when it comes to women and treats them with the up-most of respect because it's the women who have the blessing of bringing children into the world. Since he feels blessed to work them the least he can do is show his gratitude to the woman who help raise them. Though he has actually never had a girlfriend before. He doesn't actively pursue woman since he knows that one will come into his life when it's meant to happen. He's not shy around woman and has had offers before, but he didn't feel that any of them were the kind of woman he was looking for.
When he's all by himself at home, he gets sort of lonely, despite owning two small dogs, a cat, a few fish, and two gerbils. Yes, he has a great love for animals. He loves animals just as much as he loves his students since he believes other than children, the only other living being that posses such innocence are animals since they would never intentionally hurt anyone if raised properly.

Saburo's mother was very wise and he always listened to her. He knew that when he grew up, he wanted to do something amazing just like his mother. While he didn't think he could every be as great as her, he at least wanted to try and give something back to society.
At the age of 13, Saburo became fascinated with animals. He was always kind of shy in school and never really talked much so he never really had anything to do in his spare time. Luckily, one of the families neighbours had a large dog that he allowed Saburo to play with. Saburo loved the dog very much and the neighbour, being old and sickly, promised that if anything happened to him, Saburo could keep the dog. Saburo asked his mother and she agreed to let him keep it.
Time went on as he played with the dog after school and eventually the old man passed away. However, when the old mans son moved into the house, he refused to give Saburo the dog. Saburo was upset and still tried to sneak over and play with the dog like he always did, but the son refused to even let him play with the dog. It was clear the son didn't care for the dog; he left it out on rainy days and even forgot to feed it some times. One day a few months later, when Saburo went over to see the dog, the dog viciously attacked his arm, requiring him to get stitches in it. The dog was put down after. Years later he still has that scar on his upper right arm.
After the attack, Saburo was confused as to why the dog attacked him, but his mother sat him down and told him it wasn't the dogs fault. An animals personality is a reflection of it's owners. When the dog was with the old man, he was happy and proud, but when he was with the dishonest son, he was confused and frightened. His mother told him the same held true for children. Since she had loved him and treated him with kindness, he would surely grow up to be a strong and proud man.
And that's just what happened. Once he was through with high school, he realized he wanted to help make sure children would be able to grow up to be strong and proud just like he was. He decided to become a middle school teacher to make his wishes come true. He feels this was the best decision of his life and hopes to continue teaching children and helping them grow until he is unable to.
